
Olymel's "Reach for the Top" Awards
Individual Awards are presented to producers in each of the following categories:
- Core Weight Award - awarded to the producer who has the highest percentage of hogs in the core weight
- High Health Award - awarded to the producer who has the lowest score when total demerits, arthritis, adhesions, abscesses are combined for overall High Health Pigs
- Core Lean Award - awarded to the producer who has the highest percentage of hogs with a loin measurement between 60 and 69mm with hogs weighing under 105 kg
- Food Safety Award - awarded to the producer who has the highest Clear Tattoo percentage (for traceability) combined with the lowest brisket contamination level
Qualifying Period: January 1st - December 31st
Awards: Plaques, recognition and prize money
Qualify Factors: Achieve Minimum Health Standards & Minimum 2500 hogs marketed in the contest period.
The Grand Champion
This would be the producer who scored the highest in all of the above categories based on a weighted point system. This producer may not necessarily win any of the individual awards but could be n amed "Grand Champion" by scoring well in all categories.
Prizes: Individual Award: $500 and Grand Champion: $1000
